The latest long range forecast model to be released is the UKMET. Here are the forecast precipitation anomalies for May-July 2026. This forecast is most similar to the ECMWF May-July outlook in that drought likely develops around Indonesia and storms likely return to the Plains. But, there is a notable difference across Brazil and India! The ECMWF and analogs are wetter for the finish of the Safrinha crop while the UKMET is drier. The ECMWF is much drier across India for the early start of the monsoon, but the UKMET does not offer a strong signal either way. Not sure if there is much to it, but it is another point of reference seasonal outlook.
