The new seasonal weather forecast from the ECMWF was dropped on Easter and the model is VERY AGGRESSIVE on developing one of the strongest El Niño events on record by late summer to fall 2026. This graph shows the forecast of sea surface temperature anomalies for Niño Region 3.4 (central Equatorial Pacific) and a few of the ensemble members are now reaching over +3°C, which is "super Niño" territory. Here is a link to Monday's video with my initial thoughts on how the models are handling this potentially record-setting ENSO event. https://youtu.be/SMwFO5Q513E?t=1406 (this video link is cued up to where I am talking about the El Niño forecast.)
