The Storm Prediction Center has upgraded portions of Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio to a level 3 of 5, enhanced risk on their latest Day Two Severe Weather Outlook valid Thursday, March 26th.
Much of the day will be sunny, warm, and breezy across the risk area but scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop along a southward sinking cold front during the late afternoon hours, progressing southeast through the early overnight.
The primary risk on Thursday evening is large damaging hail in excess of 2" in diameter, something we've already seen multiple times across the Ohio Valley & Midwest. A tornado or two, along with a few instances of damaging wind gusts also can't be ruled out.
